# Get the directory of the current file

Bun provides a handful of module-specific utilities on the [`import.meta`](/runtime/module-resolution#import-meta) object. Use `import.meta.dir` to retrieve the absolute path to the directory containing the current file.

```ts /a/b/c.ts icon="https://mintcdn.com/bun-1dd33a4e-farm-b0b51dda-watch-atomic-save/deLdBvBzd_DaTjhx/icons/typescript.svg?fit=max&auto=format&n=deLdBvBzd_DaTjhx&q=85&s=d1eb731bf19b2ea91e1fe9b50d81f824" theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"dracula"}}
import.meta.dir; // => "/a/b"
